Welcome to Sahodaya Kottayam

Sahodaya, conceptualized by CBSE in 1986. The aim is to get together and rise together. The Sahodaya Movement launched by the CBSE, is a coming together of like minded heads of educational institutions and teachers with a consistent desire and will to make the educative process an enriching, expanding and lifelong process for the child. The Principals of the member schools meet, plan activities and participate wholeheartedly in workshops, athletic meets and other games, thereby involving the students and teachers of all the member schools. We welcome any CBSE affiliated school that wish to join hands with us, in case of absence of CBSE Sahodaya in their region.

FOREWORD

Sahodaya, which means "Rising together" is a common platform for the CBSE schools to enhance a co-operative learning and collaborative networking, so as to attain excellence, inculcating the spirit of equality ,fraternity , tolerance, patience and togetherness. Launched by CBSE in the year 1986, the Sahodaya concept laid a strong bond, though meaning ful exchange of innovative practice.Sahodaya kottayam (Central Kerala Association of CBSE Schools) is rich with a number of CBSE affiliated Schools, spreadout in Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanmthitta, Idukki and ernakulam Districts, with excellent achievements both in the curricular and co curricular fields. However, those schools that have secured NOC from the State Educational Authorities, and the affiliation process is at the final stage are given secondary membership, and are placed in 'Pool B'. Sahodaya Kottayam provides a joint rostrum for principals, teachers and student sof the member schools to dole out their view on various topics. We do have orientation programs for the new teachers, personality development courses for the students, Workshops for the subject teachers, the cultural bonanza-'Kalotsav', various other interschool competitions and tournaments, common examinations, principal's conferences, training program, etc. thus Sahodaya kottayam functions adhering to its motto 'Caring and Sharing'.

About Our Sahodaya

In 1987, CBSE brought out a publication titled, "Freedom to learn and freedom to grow through Sahodaya School Complexes" (SSCs) which characterized "SSCs" as a voluntary association of schools in a given area, who through mutual choices, have agreed to come together for a systematic and system-wide renewal of the total educational process.

In other words as "Sahodaya" signifies rising together, it identified six areas, to begin with, for collaboration amongst schools of its complex:
  • 1. Educative Management
  • 2. Evaluation
  • 3. Human Resource Mobilization
  • 4. Professional Growth of Teachers
  • 5. Value-Oriented School Climate
  • 6. Vocationalisation of Education.

Through positive promotional efforts, the Board has helped schools come together and form an interactive and sharing relationship. At present, there are 260 such complexes which are active throughout the country, and share and care for each other; particularly those which are in close physical proximity.

The Sahodaya is formed to promote and develop social, cultural and educational development amongst the members. The council strives to
  • Increase capacity building due to the changing socio-eco scenario of Gurugram
  • Monthly meetings of schools to galvanize professionalism.
  • Every member school hosts interschool activities to enhance the creativity of the students.
